Okay, so I finally went and bought Artemis this morning, and made sure that I'd asked as many questions about different substrates etc, if she'd already been fed this week and such. She had been fed already this week....but the guys at contact pets threw in a tub of locust for me for free! Awesome.

Now, I was just wondering, is it a good idea to make the foundation substrate peat (to allow for easier burrowing for the scorp), and to hold moisture pretty well, but overlay it with a layer of bark, just so that the Locusts I feed her won't be tempted to burrow beneath? Thought it made it look a bit more authentic too, and doesn't restrict her movement at all. Though, she has spent the last 6 hours near the heat mat that is on the back of the tank. Is she just adjusting to the tank, or is it too cold for her in there?

Any comments or suggestions on the substrate would be great.

Thanks
